Sagre
Sagra is an Italian village festival. The festival season starts in May
and ends at the end of October. The main theme is always connected with a
speciality of the place, e.g. Sagra Della Castagna, Sagra Del Stoccafisso.
The whole village cooks together and comes up with a series of menus on the
main theme of the celebration. Everyone who loves eating and celebrating is
welcome. After the meal a live band invites you for a dance that lasts until
the early hours of the morning. If you are travelling through the villages and
you see some makeshift signposts, that's invariably from the hosting village's
promotional crew. Take the opportunity to go to a Sagra, feast on the local
delicacies, celebrate and dance together with the local people. You really
will be impressed!
Vele d Epoca
Vele d Epoca is one of the great sailing events of Imperia, and occurs every 2
years. You can admire many different yachts from all over the world taking part
in several competitions. Apart from the competitions, there are many more
exhibitions and events related to sailing.
This year you can also visit the Vele d Epoca from the 8th to 12th September,
2010.
