Below Diano Castello lies Casa Monterosso, a well appointed holiday apartment that sleeps up to five people, comprising one double bedroom, one bunk bedroom, a modern, well-equipped kitchen, and living room and bathroom with shower. The spacious garden is ideal for rest and relaxation. In the evening you can treat yourself to a typical Ligurian menu in the Ristorante Sottovento, just a few minutes walk away.

The village on a hill once known as "Castrum Diani" has a thousand-year history. Founded by the coastal inhabitants fleeing from Saracen invaders, Diano Castello became the heart of the feudal estate of the Clavesana family and also remained the most important centre in the territory under Genoese dominion. Matteo Vinzoni's eighteenth-century description illustrates a town surrounded by a wall with four gates, the remains of which can still be seen.
When you stand outside the parish church of San Nicolò di Bari you have a view over the surrounding hills and the sea. The church dates from the Baroque period and was built according to a plan by Giambattista Marvaldi in 1699: it has a tiled altar and preserves a crucifix by Maragliano and an eighteenth-century wooden choir.
The Romanesque church of San Giovanni Battista has a very unusual truss-beam covering with elegant decorations; nearby stands the late-mediaeval oratory of Santa Croce and San Bernardino, which was restored during the Baroque period. Other religious buildings well worth visiting are the Romanesque church of the Assunta with fifteenth-century fresco work and the austere Franciscan monastery (sixteenth century). At the foot of the hill, in the village of Varcavello (from the Celtic word "havelod", meaning "to consecrate") you can admire the fountain and the altar piece by Ramoino in the oratory of San Mauro.
Leisure time is spent between sport (elastic ball, bowling, go-karting) and festivals. The San Martino Fair, where you can find antiques and local products, is followed by a bonfire festival which celebrates the end of the cold days. During the festival of the local patron saint, San Nicolò, there are handicraft exhibitions and theatrical entertainments, while if you wish to taste the food and wine specialities of the Western Riviera there is a special annual gathering that awards a prize to the best Vermentino wine. Like Taggia olive oil, Vermentino wine is produced locally on the terracings that slope down towards the sea, where there is an abundance of centuries-old olive trees, vineyards and palm trees.

- größerer Küchentisch für 5 Personen. - Salatbesteck besorgen - Dessertschälchen für Müsli oder Nachtisch anschaffen - 2. Liegestuhl - ein Sonnenschirm Garten sehr gepflegt und schön angepflanzt!!! 2.Liegestuhl und Sonnenschirm fehlte lohnender Ausflug nach Cervo, Dolcedo, Fahrt ins Hinterland Tagesausflug nach Monaco über Menton Ihre Internetseite finde ich echt super!!! Der ganze Ablauf der Reservierung, die Abwicklung der gebuchten Reise etc. hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Ich kann Sie weiterempfehlen!!!

Wer einen öffentlichen Sandstrand sucht sollte bis nach Andora fahren, falls man vor 10 Uhr dort ist hat man auch gute Chancen auf einen Parkplatz gleich nachdem man an der ersten Abfahrtsmöglichkeit rechts abbiegt. Das Meer und der Strand haben uns sehr gefallen. Sauberer als in D. Marina.

Imperias Zentrum mit seinen Boutiken und anderen Einkaufsmöglichkeiten Wir waren zufrieden und haben uns für die kurze Zeit gut entspannen können.

Wir waren begeistert von Diano Castello, auch von dem Restaurant dort - Imperia ist auf jeden Fall einen Ausflug wert - günstig auch mit dem Taxi. Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Urlaub in einer wunderschönen Gegend.

vermeld dat er in Diana di Marino zowel betaald strand als vrij strand is. Tip om tav plek op strand ervoor te zorgen dat je 's morgens al vrij vroeg (voor winkelopening) op strand bent waardoor je auto ook goed kunt parkeren.

Very nice garden. Be aware as we weren't that you have the pay for most beaches, but in Diana Mariona there is a small free area that is quite okay. Finale ligure (the old part is very nice) and as you can see Diano Castello visit that as well. It is a very nice and peacefull village. Very nice that every room is airconditioned.

Grotten von Toirano (Autobahnausfahrt Borghetto), Altstadt von Albenga, Strand von Alassio die Restaurants, die von Ihnen empfohlen wurden, können wir ebenfalls weiterempfehlen (La Campagnola in Moltedo, Macaroni, Il Melograno). Insgesamt waren wir mit der Abwicklung und der Unterbringung sehr zufrieden. Vielen Dank.

- prendre le train pour aller dans les petites localités alentour (san remo, imperia etc) - les plages de sable sont très rares, donc si vous êtes un inconditionnel des plages de sable, ce n'est pas l'ideal - monter à diano castello en hauteur, très joli

Eigentlich fehlt dem Objekt rein gar nichts! Vielleicht könnte man eine Liste aufstellen, wo welche Programme liegen, aber das hat man letztendlich auch schnell raus. Für den Fall, dass wirklich 4 Leute mal zusammen eine DVD gucken möchten, eignet sich das 2-Pers.-Sofa nicht wirklich und die Küchenstühle sind auf Dauer zu hart gewesen, aber wann guckt man schon im Urlaub Fernsehen... Alles super! Da muss nichts geändert werden! Strandtechnisch können wir eher den Kiesstrand von Imperia empfehlen (10 Min. mit dem Auto) - aber bitte an Strandschuhe denken! Diese Strände waren nicht so überlaufen und waren kostenlos! Der Ort Diano Marina hatte viele nette Gassen mit Geschäften, Cafe's und Restaurants, die alle sehr einladend aussahen. Wir selbst können vor allen Dingen das Café "Capt' Nelson" empfehlen. Sehr nettes Personal und zu den Getränken gab es kleine Häppchen umsonst. Wir selbst sind dann auch noch mit dem Auto in San Remo, Monaco und Nizza gewesen. Diese Orte waren auch sehr sehenswert und über die kostenpflichtige Autobahn schnell zu erreichen. Was absolut nicht zu empfehlen ist, ist das Freibad im Ort beim Bowling-Center. Hierbei handelt es sich mehr oder weniger um ein "Planschbecken" und die Toiletten waren nicht zu gebrauchen, da diese sehr dreckig waren! Der Eintrittspreis betrug aber 5?/Kind!!! Das war wirklich eine Unverschämtheit! Für Erwachsene sogar mehr. Wir hatten für unsere Kids eine Alternative gesucht, da es an dem Tag nur so von Quallen in Strandnähe wimmelte und ein Schwimmen im Meer nicht ratsam war. Macht weiter so!

Für Familien mit Kindern hat uns neben dem empfohlenen freien Strand in Andora der freie Strand in Diano Marina mindestens ebenso gut gefallen.

proposition d'amélioration: un lave vaisselle, un égouttoir a salade, et une cafetiere italienne (difficile de trouver des filtres): Pour le jardin: un peu plus d'ombre, mais il faut attendre que les arbres poussent... Cervo, Diano Castello, Imperia valent le detour. nous avons ete agreablement surpris par la qualite et la proprete de la maison. merci.
