The apartement Del Borgo Margherita lies in a quiet site in Poggi, which is reachable through Imperia (Porto Maurizio) within few minutes by car. Porto Maurizio offers well-kept beaches and much different kind of restaurants with ligurian specialities. The acces road to the holiday house goes through an electric gate, which is the only way to the enclosed estate. There is a private parking lot for you. The house offers enough room for 6 people with its living quarters with modern kitchen, dinner area and a comfortable daybed; its 2 bedrooms, one with single bed and the other with a king size bed and one bathroom with washing machine , shower and WC. You can barbecue with the whole family on the terrace, from which you have a beautiful view over the Prino valley. You can also buy bun, fruits, vegetables and other specialities in the small alimentari.
Imperia is the fourth largest town in Liguria. It became a municipality in 1923 as a consequence of the union of Oneglia and Porto Maurizio, two towns on the Western Riviera divided by the mouth of the River Impero.
The two nuclei remain distinct despite the administrative merger and extensive property development.
Porto Maurizio was an ally of Genoa from the thirteenth century onwards, while Oneglia, the natural sea outlet of the Impero Valley, was allied with the House of Savoy from 1576. Oneglia's origins as a town date back to mediaeval times. Worth visiting are Palazzo Doria (now completely transformed), which was the birthplace of Andrea Doria, and the church of San Giovanni Battista. Porto Maurizio, which stands on a promontory, began to develop after 1000 AD: the oldest district is called Parasio. The cathedral and the historic buildings are well worth visiting.
