The Villetta Caruso is located just a few meters away from the sea in the popular coastal town of San Bartolomeo al Mare. The holiday house has two very nicely furnished bedrooms, a conveniently fitted and well equipped kitchen / living-room and a bathroom with shower. You can sit back and enjoy the sun with an absorbing book in the beautiful well-tended garden. There is also a beautiful seafront to tempt you to take numerous evening strolls.

This municipality was created from the two ancient towns of Rovere and San Bartolomeo. Pottery finds in the area of Rovere testify to the town's existence in Roman times and also to earlier human settlement.

The first thing that strikes you when entering this town to the west of the River Steria are the bougainvillea hedges, the geraniums and orange trees lining the avenues and the aroma of aromatic herbs. The sanctuary of the Madonna della Rovere is very well known, as is the "Rovere d'Oro" International Music Competition, which draws many visitors every summer. Lying in the shade of English oaks, the sanctuary preserves a fifteenth-century crucifix and an oval fresco by Tommaso Carrega. The neo-classical façade is embellished with a slate portal.

The spire of a bell-tower rises out of the old town centre of San Bartolomeo. Of late mediaeval origin but expanded in the seventeenth-century, the parish church suffered serious damage in the earthquake of 1887 but was later carefully reconstructed. It preserves a poliptych of San Bartolomeo and Saints by De Rossi and his son. The charming little church of Sant'Anna in the district of Poiolo is surrounded by cool palm trees and stands on a hillock (from which the locality gets its name) between Rovere and San Bartolomeo. If you walk inland you come to Pairola, a town that was built thanks to the earnings from olive cultivation and coral fishing. Ponte dei Richieri is an ancient district full of oil mills, where you can actually see olive oil being produced. In Borgata Freschi you can see the small country church of San Rocco: according to tradition, the saint stopped to rest here and left the outline of his body impressed in the rock.

Summer visitors can go for a swim in the sea or the swimming pool, and among the many amusements are numerous water sports, excursions on horseback, tennis and archery. As well as the simple country dishes of the inland areas, you can try the fish and sea-food dishes served in the seaside restaurants: all, of course, to be accompanied by Vermentino superior wine.

The house is centrally located in the proximity of the coast. Shopping centers, bus and train can be reached within a few minutes on foot.
